As an artist and creator I love NFTs and blockchain

Crypto like any new technology is now in the process of getting the kinks out of the space, or as many as possible. Crypto is all about decentralizing money which means less money for the big guys and more money for the average person. Take art for example. If you are an artist who sells painting X for $100.00. In 5 years, painting X sells for $10,000.00. You as the artist get nothing from this sale (in USA and several other countries) even though you made it with your own hands. If you die in that 5 years your children get nothing from the sale of your painting. The only one who gets the profit is the seller of the painting. That sucks in my book. In crypto every time the art piece (nft) sells the artist gets a royalty of 10 percent or less of the sale. The artist decides the royalty percentage before the art piece (nft) is minted.

The original buyer still receives 90% or more of the profit of the sale. As they should be recognized for their insight in buying the original art piece(nft). That means that their profit is still in tact but the creator gets a small percentage of the money which in our society is credit. As an artist, who just loves doing art, I want to be able to leave my love ones with some monetary rewards from my life’s work just like any other profession. And now I can with crypto.

Finally I want to thank Rarible and Forbes for creating this art call. I am so excited to be part of the 10 finalist. Remember to check out the drop of my new NFT “Jazzy” on February 9th at 9:00 am. Thank you and have a great evening.
