I based this painting on the you tube video of Seven Year Bitch video “24,900 Miles Per Hour”. When I first started working on this painting, I was making the comics of the gross guys very clear, however I started to get a bit angry about the gross guys. So I decided to tone down the comics. I think our world is changing and humans are becoming way more intelligent. People are beginning to have better boundaries and the gross guys are becoming extinct because of the movements like the Riot Grrrrl.
The underground feminist punk movement of the Riot Grrrls began in the early 90’s in the Pacific Northwest. Grrrl grrrls addressed issues such as rape, domestic abuse, sexuality, racism, patriarchy, classism and female empowerment. I loved the video- “24,900 Miles Per Hour“!
