“Bay Bridge Reflections”

“Bay Bridge Reflections” is a beautiful oil painting on a textured 4 feet X 4 feet wood board.   I use sheetrock tape, string and Fix all dipped in Gesso to get a richly multidimensional canvas.  I then cover it in Gesso and paint with oil. Painted in San Francisco, November 2013

While waiting for the ferry on a beautiful rainy day, I came across this couple. They were having coffee on this bench.   In the painting I moved the view of the bridge so it was in front of them. The touching of their knees was added to create a touch of romance.

I painted this painting as I was beginning to view myself as an artist.   I started making and selling art products as a way to get my work out to the general public.  This particular image made me realize I live one of the most beautiful cities, and I might want to capture this loveliness in my particular style.
