The blue Artichoke is a beautiful older painting. In 2005, I decided I would like a painting of something other than people. So I painted an big Artichoke floating in clouds for my living room. I was having a show of my paintings in my house and I left that painting up. All the other paintings were of people because we fascinate me. A couple weeks after the show a friend called and said she was interested in the artichoke. I sold it to her for my first Mac book pro.
Soon after this my sister said she wanted an artichoke. So I painted it and sent it to her in Phoenix Arizona, and she paid me. I then painted three more, and one is this Blue Artichoke. The parlor called for light and pretty so I brought it over to The Academy.
The blue Artichoke is painted in oil on a 48″ X 48″ took board. I used sheet rock tape and fix all for the texture then covered it in gesso. The painting is original and cannot be reproduced with the texture so in thesis times it is valuable. This beautiful painting of the Blue Artichoke is now available for $2,951.00.
“The Blue Artichoke” is part of the current Amalee original collection on view at The Academy, San Francisco. Schedule an Airbnb Experience to see the collection and meet the artist.
