So what do I say about Peter Murphy, except that the painting is great. It captures his androgynous, creative and a tad bit snotty persona. I painted him because my house mate at the time was super into Buahaus. She was going to a performance in San Francisco, and she thought it people standing in line would buy products of it. However after I painted him, I realized I did not want to be out there trying to sell products, so I didn’t make any.
The good thing is I did make a Bauhaus hand painted tee-shirt which sold for 40 bucks. Yes forty bucks. Sometimes after I paint a painting it is super easy to make a hand painted tee shirt, although it usually takes longer then 2 hours. So as a artist with a masters degree, I make less than $15.00 an hour. So I am kinda over the hand painted tee-shirt. I am adopting the snottiness of Peter Murphy and saying sorry I am too talented for that shit.
