I love Kurt Cobain for several reasons.  The most important being I relate to his need to explore the taboo of our society in his music.   He brilliantly used his words to illuminate and annihilate the ills of our society. He fused raw aggression and intense vulnerability in his music.  Not to mention undeniable natural talent. 

In this painting I tried to capture his hair. I used sheetrock tape to make his classic style of blond grunge. I put a couple of Nirvana happy face logos in the pen work. He looks like he is coming through a port window (death), from water (“Nevermind”). I left it grungier than I am Normally comfortable with but I figure “Fuck it” he might like it.
